Tomorrow is the 4th Sunday of Advent. The theme? Love.
The funny thing about human beings is that it is hard for us to love unconditionally. We are too fragile, too frightened.
To pull off anything that resembles loving our fellow many, we have to welcome God into our hearts. Through him, we can achieve the impossible but it won’t be easy. Yet, working together we can carry His Love and His Light into the World.
Then again, who ever said that something worth doing would be easy. Care to join me in this Holy Challenge?

Something happened when folks were practicing for the Sunday School Christmas program at church last night. Some kids from the neighborhood came in and wanted to know if they could play basketball in the gym. The Spiritual Growth director got on them and told them they shouldn’t be in there and to go away. Bran and I were stunned. Where should they be if not in a church? Sigh… Too often church becomes a business to be run, not a ministry of the heart like you’re talking about Sue.

It is so easy to get tangled in our “to do” lists that we forget what Christ told us to be. His presence around and among the people.
The post was actually inspired by a story I heard about a little Muslim girl, American, who is so terrified at what she’s heard from Trump that she has packed her most precious belongings in a back pack. That way when the army comes to take her family away she is prepared.
So hard to feel God’s presence in our hearts when we are afraid or mad. Definitely essential to find Him first.
