Heavenly Father,

I don’t know
which way to turn.

Everyone can’t be right.
They can’t all
be doing your will.

But amid the shouting
and the name calling
and the rhetoric,
I can’t hear that stillness,
that quiet voice,
that tells me the way
You would have me go.

Help me to hear You
amid the tumult.

Help me to see You
between the posters
and the slogans.

And help me have
the courage
to turn my back
on the others
and follow You.
